Forklift Truck Simulator makes your forklift-driving dreams come true

If you’re a PC gamer in the UK and have been desperately waiting for a forklift entry to fill the gap in your collection of esoteric simulators, then Jan 29 is your lucky day. On said day, Excalibur Publishing will be releasing their aptly named Forklift Truck Simulator for £24.99. After going through a training session, you operate licensed Still brand forklifts, using them to pick things up (off of, say, a train or a truck) and putting them down (into, say, a warehouse). The game features three different forklifts, six different missions, and a free play mode that (hopefully) lets you abuse your license and drive like a noob, inflicting massive damage on all crates and pallets that stand in your way! Check out the gallery after the break to see those sweet digital lifts in action.

Excalibur Publishing Ltd. to release Forklift Truck Simulator in the UK
Excalibur Publishing Ltd invites players to get behind the controls of a forklift truck from the comfort of their own computer. As of January 2010 you will be able to slip into the role of a forklift truck driver and carry out a number of different tasks.
Your task is to master a range of jobs in varying environments and difficulties. Load and unload lorries and train carriages against the clock and store goods on different height shelves in warehouses. You will be working on original STILL forklift trucks of which the attention to detail will be appreciated by any forklift truck enthusiast.
To make the experience a bit more realistic you begin in a training mode to learn your controls and achieve your license in order to continue to the missions. There is also a “free play” mode which allows you to drive freely and choose where to go and what to do with the goods.
Robert Stallibrass of Excalibur Publishing says: “We are delighted to add Forklift Truck to our range of Simulators. The developers at Astragon have a great sense of detail and have worked hard to make this experience as realistic as possible. ”
The product will retail at £24.99, is available on pre-order at www.excalibur-publishing.com and will officially hit the shelves in all major game retailers on 29th January 2010.

I want a forklift game where you actually lift forks. It’d be so damn literal! [/Mitch Hedburg]

I can't help by be shocked. I am with the introduction of forklifts, ever since it's birth there have been so many ways to evolve it and cater to its requirements. I can't help but laugh that they have come out with a stimulative game which will help employees train on it and if they have acquired training, than they can practice first hand on it. Simply amazing, and just to think about out it how even the most smallest thing in our world is taken and revolutionized and completely changed.

It sounds like a very useful product, I just don't know how many people dream about becoming the best forklift driver ever. I did meet such a person at a Forklift rental company, we were in the waiting room and since we didn't have anything else to do, we talked about forklifts of course. It was fascinating to me how complex these machines are, and how difficult to master.

I’ve tried this simulator and the physics involved are actually very much like operating a real-life forklift.  It’s not perfect, but it’s interesting and challenging.  Steering wheel support would make it epic.
