Blizzard releases patch for Diablo II

Say what you will about their “its done when its done” policy on Diablo III…at least they’re still supporting the old stuff! Diablo II: Lord Of Destruction was actually my favorite game for a solid seven years before I found Fallout 3 a few months ago. Looks like I’ll have to revisit my old buddy for a bit. Or, you know…several consecutive days of playing without leaving my computer.

At any rate, the 1.13 patch is now up and running for those of you still hooked on Diablo II. Its available for both the original and the Lord Of Destruction expansion. Just sign into your account and you’re good to go. The patch does some minor tweaks and bug fixes, the chance to re-specialize your character (after completing the Den of Evil quest), a few adjustments to the classes, and a “mystery addition” (which I refuse to look up because I don’t want to spoil the surprise).

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to find my expansion disc!

I’ve got great news for you. You no longer need to have the play disc inserted to play Diablo II (there was a patch toward the beginning of the year that freed you from that restriction).

True, but I just got a new computer and haven’t finished the installation. The expansion disc appears to be missing from my set (I moved recently), hence why I have to dig around. Sucks. I shouldn’t have said “play” disc. Fixed!
