Despite his “transgressions,” which seem to include a potential sex tape and love child according to recent reports, EA has no plans to ditch Tiger Woods from their best-selling golf video game series. Earlier, Forbes editor Michael Ozanian claimed that company would not continue using Tiger for future titles.
According to a statement made to Joystiq by an EA spokesperson, “There is no change in our marketing strategy for the franchise. Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged.”
That’s great news for golf fans, and Tiger fans as well. His personal affairs should have no impact on a golf video game and his extraordinary athletic talents. I’m glad EA sees that too. Plus, why would they ditch one of their best selling titles?
