MTV Games has confirmed that Harmonix has let 39 employees go.  Harmonix is the developer behind some of the best selling titles of the year, including the Rock Band franchise.   According to MTV Games, the layoffs were done to “better align [the] staffing to best suit [Harmonix's] product development plans and schedules moving forward.”

Whether this is a conciliation, MTV Games has confirmed that no projects have been shelved, just employees.  I’m sure they did what was best for the company, but layoffs during the holidays is as low as it gets.
