What is mundane and uneventful news for PC enthusiasts is a rare inconvenience for XBOX 360 players. Bioware community manager Chris Priestly took some time in the Mass Effect forums to clear the air on the upcoming Mass Effect 2 and the number of discs it will entail.
Both the PC and XBOX 360 versions will span two discs (three, if you buy the version with the bonus behind the scenes DVD). While the PC users will of course install both discs and play on, the XBOX 360 users will have to switch a disc, though Priestly assures us “it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay)” and will only occur once in the game. No back and forth. Says Priestly:
Why 2 discs? Answer: Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc.
Good enough reason for me! While we’re here, here’s a bunch of Mass Effect 2 screenshots from our gallery.
