Pandemic Studios may have bit the big one, but it looks like EA is wasting no time in picking up where they left off.
A multiplayer version of Mercenaries, tentatively entitled Mercs, Inc., is said to be in pre-production at EA LA. This internal video was just leaked and the source says it is both real and a few months old. So far there is no information on whether the game will also have a single player mode.
But for those of you who are wary of a Mercenaries title without the original team, take heart. The dozen remaining Pandemic employees who weren’t axed are working on it. The project has not officially been “green lit” but still looks to be going full swing.
Be sure to take a gander at the above video. Those of you who have played the series will note that the trailer looks accurate enough by Mercenaries standards. I’m hoping this is one rumor that pans out.
