PlayStation 3 to support 3D gaming via firmware upgrade

PS3 3D

Screens from a recent Sony presentation show that the company is serious about making 3D gaming a reality.  As part of their 2010 strategy towards world domination, the company plans on releasing a firmware update that will upgrade all PS3 consoles to support 3D software.  Naturally, the plan is to bring 3D software to the masses later next year.

Of course the biggest bummer is that your television would have to support 3D. Since about 0.1% of the nation has a 3D TV, the technology may not leap off the ground. But at least you’ll be halfway ready!
