Guitar Hero, Band Hero, DJ Hero, now Drum Hero. This could really go on forever. Bass Hero, Karaoke Hero, Cowbell Hero, Roadie Hero, Groupie Hero, Fan Whose Still Partying With Encrusted Barf On Their Shirt Hero. Hey, how about Hero Hero? Its fun for the whole family!
Apparently Activision signed up for the trademark on Drum Hero at the end of October. While it could be argued that the filing could merely be an effort to protect their franchise’s naming rights, at the same time, it seems a no brainer from the company who has already milked the cash cow with 3 other incarnations of the series. Personally, I find the repetitiveness a bit exhausting but hey, if they want to run a profitable franchise into the ground by over saturating the market, I guess that’s their (bad) business.
