Rumor: Project Natal for under $80, next November?

Natal

The rumors have officially begun regarding Microsoft’s controller free new peripheral, Project Natal.  According to a source speaking to MCV, Project Natal will release November 2010.  The source also claims that the price will likely be under $80. Microsoft however may lower the price to $50 so it can become an impulse buy for consumers.

On launch day, Project Natal will launch with 14 titles. Also, split between a standalone product and console bundles, over 5 million Project Natal sensors will be ready for launch day.

While this is all rumor and speculation, it certainly is specific in its details. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Update on this: Apparently word from the higher-ups following Project Natal, there has been no say on price… Natal is still “in the baking” and the price mention was just rumor.

It’s back to knowing few details & waiting for news, on that front.

    Thanks for the update, Isentropic_Storm!

I’m in the camp that believes Natal is going to be pretty expensive. If a bunch of plastic guitar and drum peripherals can cost you over $100, I’m sure a hands-free Star Treky controller would cost a lot more.
