Taxi Fight! looks to have many taxis, little fighting

taxifightGlu Games has released a charming looking iPhone game, Taxi Fight! I guess the titular fighting is in the sense of ‘fighting to pick up that fare first,’ rather than ‘fighting other taxis with a hood-mounted cannon,’ because the game looks nothing like the top-down version of Quarantine that I was hoping for. The game’s description is sparse, but the general goal seems to be getting people into cabs and then delivering them to their destination before they get angry. What’s unclear to me is whether you’re simply driving one of many cabs, or controlling the whole scene. Still, top-down driving games have filled me with glee ever since Spy Hunter, and for the asking price of a dollar it’s hard to go wrong.

San Mateo, Calif.- November 3, 2009 Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: GLUU), a leading global publisher of mobile games, today announced the availability of Taxi Fight!, on the Apple App Store. “Glu is thrilled to add another original title on the Apple App store. Our team has created a casual game that captures the speed and excitement of real city life and gives the players a realistic mobile experience,” said Alex Galvagni, senior vice president of global product development & CTO, Glu. “Taxi Fight! combines intuitive multi-touch user interface controls with increasing challenges that will keep players fascinated with this virtual environment.”
