Ah, downloadable content. The gaming industry’s version of “the hidden fee”. I was reading an article by a “gaming industry analyst” the other day that said the price of games needs to go up to $100 if we hope to keep bad games off the shelf and “save” the gaming industry. I say, by the time you buy all the downloadable content, you’ve often spent that or more, in addition to the several hours spent acting as the game’s beta tester for developers looking to cut costs by releasing an unprepared game that they’ll undoubtably patch within the first day. Where’s my check?
At any rate, Jack Black and his band of merry metalheads will be lightening the DLC load on PS3, offering the Tears of Hexadon map pack from November 5th to November 19th free of charge. The Tears of Hexadon map pack, featuring The Circle Of Tears and the Death’s Fjord maps, will retail for 400 points on XBOX 360 starting November 3rd.
