Nintendo previously announced that anyone who happened to pay the 500 Nintendo Points necessary for the Internet Channel (that is after the initial free period) will receive 500 Nintendo Points free for use towards a future Wii Shop Channel purchase. Well, today is the day where you’re free to redeem those points.
The Internet Channel was made free (again) in an attempt to convince more people to connect and use the Wii’s Internet features. Because Nintendo felt bad for those who paid, they started the free gift program. The free game offer expires at the end of this year.
