		<description>Even though the NeoGAF poster referred to it as patent filing, everyone else seems to be saying trademark filing, which makes a lot more sense… You don&#039;t patent a new color of an existing technology (for example), but you do need to register trademark for the name of it… Well, I don&#039;t think you would need to even do that here in the States… I think if &#039;Wii Remote&#039; was trademarked and somebody else tried to claim &#039;Wii Remote Blue,&#039; that would get pushed right to the ground… I don&#039;t know how strict IP law is in Japan though… But, regardless… Patents are for new inventions, ideas… Trademark is for protecting names, branding, identities - which is what this seems to be…</description>
