Trademark reveals new Pikachu adventure, new Wii Remote colors

Nintendo’s trademarks are often pretty revealing.  According to some recently spotted trademarks, we now know that Nintendo has a few notable items in the pipeline, with release dates included.

12/03 Wii- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
12/03 Wii – Wii Remote Blue
12/03 Wii – Wii Remote Pink
12/05 Wii – PokePark Wii Pikachu’s Great Adventure
12/17  Wii -NHK Red/White Quiz Battle

Hopefully North America will see these Blue and Pink Wii Remotes.  Blue was previously released as a Club Nintendo of Japan exclusive during the launch of Wii Sports Resort (as shown in the image above). And while Pikachu’s Great Adventure was rumored previously, it’s still an exciting surprise.  Hopefully we will hear more at the rumored Nintendo of Japan fall conference.

UPDATE: No rumors here. All of the above was confirmed at today’s retail conference in Japan.

  • No problem.

Also, if we get the light blue Wiimote here in the States, I will pee my pants.

    updated,

    Thanks.
  • Even though the NeoGAF poster referred to it as patent filing, everyone else seems to be saying trademark filing, which makes a lot more sense… You don't patent a new color of an existing technology (for example), but you do need to register trademark for the name of it… Well, I don't think you would need to even do that here in the States… I think if 'Wii Remote' was trademarked and somebody else tried to claim 'Wii Remote Blue,' that would get pushed right to the ground… I don't know how strict IP law is in Japan though… But, regardless… Patents are for new inventions, ideas… Trademark is for protecting names, branding, identities - which is what this seems to be…
