Monster Hunter 3’s N.A. release may support WiiSpeak

Monster Hunter 3 has sold tremendously well in Japan, and with the North American release months away, Capcom is looking into maximizing their success with Western audiences.  Capcom’s Chris Kramer, the USA Senior Director of Communications and Community, sees the current fees involved with online play as something that may get removed from the U.S. version.

Firstly, Monster Hunter isn’t as popular in the West, so it might put people off.  Secondly, Japan doesn’t have Friend Codes, so Capcom run all the serves and the monthly fee is essentially to pay for those costs.

Additionally, Capcom Producer Ryozo Tsjmoto talked about the possibility of adding Wii Speak to the U.S. version as well.

We’re looking into right now whether it’s technically possible or not.

At this point, Wii gamers really deserve a few solid titles that will support Wii Speak, so hopefully Capcom will be able to make that happen.
