After patiently waiting since mailing in those rebate submissions, Guitar Hero: Van Halen has began appearing in mailboxes across the country.  While the game holds a street date of December 22nd, those who purchased Guitar Hero 5 were entitled to receive a free early copy of the game via mail-in rebate.

One big bummer is the fact that the game comes in a paper sleeve, instead of the standard hard plastic game case.  Additionally, “For Promotion Only” is slapped across the game and cover, which essentially blacklists the title from being traded in.  Overall, the game is as expected, including a slew of Van Halen tracks in a game format similar to the GH: Metallica title.
