Red Steel 2 creators talk MotionPlus
Lead game designer Roman Campos Oriola and creative director Jason Vandenberghe recently took the time to discuss the mechanisms of the Wii MotionPlus and how it has improved the gameplay in Red Steel 2. I found this video, posted on Ubisoft’s YouTube account, very interesting. From the creative director’s description alone, its pretty clear that MotionPlus has turned a fun game into a fantastic game by simply picking up a wider range of movement. They discuss briefly their decision to not make Red Steel 2 a sword fighting simulation and show a bit of what we can expect from the sequel’s upcoming release.
On a side not, is it just me, or is there totally a Beauty and the Beast thing goin’ on here? Roman looks like he stinks of pure sex, and Jason looks like something I saw in a metal music video once. Not that I wouldn’t do Jason, I’d just make him braid his hair (and that beard) first.
