I don’t know what surprises me more: the accurate details of these delectable cupcakes, or that they’re not made by cupcake goddess Hello Naomi!
Nope, these come way of Bakerella. After becoming a Wii fan recently, she decided to whip these up in part of a Wii giveaway promotion on her site (sadly, the contest is over). They were made using fondant, the icing technique responsible for some of the other video game baking triumphs you’ve seen on the web, including the Guitar Hero cake and Hello Naomi’s web-wide famous Super Mario cupcakes.
I think it would be a lot of fun to make these with some of the more fun Mii characters to hit the Channel, like Jack Black or, my personal best, Carl Brutananadilewski. I also made an unmasked Megaman that’d make a grown man weep for joy. I can think of no better tribute to my greatness than to immortalize them in fondant. Well, getting in the top 50 Mii artists would be nice, but we’ll call cupcakes a decent second.
