Earthworm Jim on WiiWare will be based on Genesis Version

Earthworm Jim - Sega Genesis

GamerBytes got an interview with GameLoft, publishers of the upcoming WiiWare remake of Earthworm Jim, revealing new details about the direction the game is taking. First and most importantly is that while the game is being written from the ground up, it is to be based on the Sega Genesis version. Throw in the ‘Big Bruty’ level from the Special Edition, improved graphics and animations, difficulty options, stat-tracking leaderboards, and “some surprises,” and you might have a compelling argument for buying this despite just having beat it for the third time on the Virtual Console.

Didn’t we already go through this with Pitfall–The Mayan Adventure not too long ago?
