Want to get yourself a bunch of free N64 games for Christmas? If you’re European and have friends with a Wii, you’re in luck!
Starting next month, you can become a part of Nintendo of Europe’s new program to help get more Wii owners online. The big goal is to boost interest in WiiWare and the Virtual Console, and all you have to do is help your friends get connected to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for the first time. You and whoever you connect will receive 500 Wii Points each, and you can earn up to 10,000 Wii Points for helping 20 people. But wait, there’s more:
…If the Ambassador helps 10 people connect; they can attain gold status, which will then enable the Ambassador to download all Nintendo first party NES games for free on Virtual Console! If, however, they help 20 people connect, they will be given platinum status and will be able to download for free all first party and third party NES, SNES and N64 games on Virtual Console!
…I sure hope all of you in Europe are figuring out which of your friends you plan on “helping” first thing next month. All first party VC games? That’s one hell of a bargain. You Europeans better take advantage… I want this thing to come Stateside. Ugh, to think I already paid for several of those VC games.
