According to a preview of an upcoming Toys R Us circular ad, it looks like the Wii might follow suit in the recent console price wars. While Sony and Microsoft cut prices of their consoles recently, Nintendo has stood tall, claiming they hadn’t considered such a move. According to the ad, however, it appears the Big N might be singing a different tune.
Although still thriving, Wii sales are down significantly. With competition nearing into the Wii’s $250 price tag, it would make sense that Nintendo would adjust their price, especially going into the competitive holiday season.
The Toys R Us ad is set to release the week of September 27th. Although Nintendo doesn’t typically attend the Tokyo Game Show, which takes place between the 24th and 27th, it might be wise to keep an eye on them during the Kyoto Cross Media Experience 2009, a perfect place to make a price cut announcement.
