Japanese Wii owners have been experiencing the new Nintendo Channel since earlier this summer. Finally, North America has received the Wii channel update. The update serves as a re-launch of the Nintendo Channel, which includes a new, easier to navigate interface. Additionally, you can recommend and rate games for other players, and view highly rated titles yourself.
When the channel starts, you can now select whether you want High or Low video quality, a welcomed preference setting for those with a faster or slower Internet connection. Similar to other consoles, Nintendo will now host the Nintendo Week, a weekly show providing an in-depth look into current and upcoming Nintendo releases.
