Ahead of this weekend’s extremely anticipated Japanese launch of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Pokemon Sunday TV program revealed a few bits of information this past weekend as to some new features in the games.
- The male character’s name is Hibiki and the female character is named Kotone (so it’s not definitely not Kris from Pokemon Crystal)
- You can hear water running the closer your character walks towards lakes, seas, rivers, waterfalls, etc.
- You can make the running shoes permanent rather than having to hold down B all the time.
- Some of the Pikachu you find in the PokeWalker’s Yellow Course will know the move Fly. This wasn’t specifically stated, but they did say that the artwork showing Pikachu floating by balloons was a hint as to what the special move would be.
This game is still months away for those of us outside of Japan, but seeing as they’re generally hailed as the best games of the series, I can’t help but wish I was in Japan this weekend. Now, if only they’d release a remake of Crystal…
