It’s the triumphant return of the Virtual Console! (People do love to panic.) The arcade version of Tecmo Bowl is available for 600 points today, in all of its widescreen (yes, widescreen from 1987) glory. Don’t pin your hopes on playing as your favourite 80s football players, though. The arcade version only features two fictional teams; the Bulldogs and the Wildcats.
WiiWare doesn’t have any big releases this week, but you might be interested to know that WiiWare has been taken to a whole new level of maturity (and I use the term loosely). Sexy Poker is the first (feel free to correct me on this) M-rated WiiWare game, with strip Texas Hold’em poker with six lovely (?) anime-style ladies. They don’t get any more naked than their underwear, but those “suggestive themes” are enough to earn it an M rating. There’s some kind of Rock’em Sock’em Robots thing going on with Overturn, which is also available today. Oh, and it’s the first Monday of the month. That means there are three new chapters of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years available for 300 points each! The final 800-point chapter comes next month, so get ready.
Moving right along, DSiWare gets yet another Art Style game today. Art Style: precipice is a unique falling block puzzle game that requires you to guide your tiny characters around the playing field, avoiding falling blocks and climbing on them to get higher. It’s like climbing a mountain in an avalanche that never, ever ends.
As always, check past the break for more details on all of today’s offerings.
