Following last week’s Galaxy performance, this week’s “concert” features the same pianist continuing with another famous Super Mario theme. This time around, it’s “Dire, Dire Docks” from the stage of the same name in Super Mario 64. It was also the background music of a later level by the name of Jolly Roger Bay. What was that, thirteen years ago now?
To be quite honest, I’m surprised at the fact I’m posting this. Thirteen years ago, I absolutely hated any underwater levels in games, even in games like Super Mario Bros. where you couldn’t drown. Luckily, I’ve since grown out of that phase, can handle water levels with ease, and can now fully appreciate the beautiful music often associated with water levels. The “Dire, Dire Docks” theme is breathtakingly soothing, and I hope you enjoy it as this week’s performance.
