Nintendo doesn’t talk about the lack of Virtual Console games lately

The last two Wii Shop updates haven’t included any Virtual Console games at all. A blog called The Gamebag posted what they claimed to be a letter from Nintendo in response to their questions regarding the lack of VC games, as well as the possibility of the Nintendo Channel update coming to North America:
Dear Jorge,
We understand your concern about the lack of service on the VC as of late. Due to sales numbers being far greater recently on Wiiware than on Virtual Console, we have decided to steer in the direction of WiiWare.
Also, we in America have NO plans to update the Internet Channel or the Nintendo Channel. We hope you understand
You may have seen this posted on one or two other Nintendo news sites. There’s a good reason why it wasn’t posted here, though. It just sounds too fishy. It just seems too straight forward. Nintendo tends to say little or nothing about… well, anything they’re asked. It’s always “rumors and speculation” this and “we have nothing to announce at this time” that.
Well, the folks at Kombo felt the same way, so they did a little digging themselves. This is the response they got:
Each week Nintendo makes available a mix of Virtual Console, WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare games. Combined, these services currently provide gamers with hundreds of fun and interesting downloadable games to choose from. There is no preset schedule as to how many games will become available in a given week, but many more are on the way via all of these digital delivery systems.
See, that sounds more reliable. This is the kind of letter you’d expect to get from Nintendo. Not a straight answer, but more of a description of their download services with the answer nestled in amongst the shilling.
It doesn’t sound like Nintendo will be abandoning the Virtual Console any time soon. The last two weeks brought some pretty big-name WiiWare games, so it only makes sense that Nintendo wouldn’t want to go up against them with VC games.
Please forgive the internet. It just likes to panic.
