Final Fantasy IV dated for Virtual Console… in Japan

Right after getting Final Fantasy III on the Virtual Console, Square Enix has announced that Japan will be geting the next game in the series, Final Fantasy IV, on August 4th for 900 Wii Points. (Yes, the Square Enix tax applies to Virtual Console games as well.) Meanwhile, North America is still waiting for its very first Final Fantasy VC game. It’s not as though there aren’t already plenty of ways to play Final Fantasy I, IV, and VI (the ones North America has a shot at getting on the Virtual Console) already, but it would be nice to have versions that are so faithful to the NES and SNES releases. You know, for the sake of… purity, or whatever. Or maybe we just want what we can’t have.
