There have only been 9 games that received a perfect score from juggernaut Japanese gaming mag Famitsu. Dragon Quest IX makes ten, and is the first DQ game to achieve such marks.

The game received four perfect 10 scores, and was applauded for its music, multiplayer, and, well, because it’s fun. If you had any doubts of whether the DQ series could deliver all the goods, this should help clear a few of them out of the way.

Some other recent perfect score winners from the magazine include Metal Gear Solid 4, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I usually try not to let reviews sway me too much with their scores, and focus on the content, but it’s hard to ignore a game that has such prestigious company. I’ll be picking this one up pretty quickly on launch day, anyone else?
