Japan’s getting a black Wii is no coincidence, as it’s no secret that new colors spark sales (and who didn’t want a black “Revolution?”) and that the Wii has been slugging a bit in the homeland. But what about us? Nintendo’s Reggie shot down hopes of a black Wii in North America for the time being.
“We don’t have anything to announce for the U.S. on either of those products. We know that it will be reacted to quite positively in Japan… but no news for the Americas markets for those two products.”
Reggie tried to explain that the new color in Japan was due to the big launch of Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) over there. When asked, he confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) is coming Stateside, but had nothing to say about a black Wii.
