Nintendo’s next console will be ready to go when needed

Just like Nintendo was working on a new handheld that ultimately got scrapped in favor of sticking behind the DS, you can bet they’re beginning plans for an even more advanced handheld by now. In addition, it would be naive to think that they haven’t begun working on a successor to the Wii. According to a recent report, Nintendo next console will already be set to go once it’s called upon.

Nintendo is working on a new console and will be ready to introduce it whenever game developers say they can no longer improve games for the Wii, Iwata said. “None of our developers is making that kind of complaint.”

I’m excited for the next generation. The new enhancement such as Wii MotionPlus, Sony’s motion controller, and Microsoft’s Project Natal will be great for the games of 2010. Imagine, however, what games will be like once these technologies become standard for the next generation, on top of the even newer technologies of tomorrow.
