We’ve seen Microsoft’s Project Natal. We’ve seen Sony’s motion wand (which also needs the EyeToy to work). Considering that Nintendo introduced motion controls to take a different route from Microsoft and Sony to remove themselves from the competition and to go after the larger, blue ocean of casual gamers, you might think that Nintendo would be a little uneasy right now. Not true, says Miyamoto:
“The fact that both of those companies are looking at getting the gamer off the couch, taking advantage of motion control, and getting them to control the game by moving their body shows that they have looked at what we have done with Wii. And now they are moving in the same direction. To that end we are very flattered.”
Nintendo Revolution indeed.
