E3 2009: Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer

It’s ridiculous how many of the people at E3 are psyched about Super Mario Galaxy 2. The original was so well received (it’s even considered in the running for the best game of all-time by some people), that to give it a sequel so soon is a thought that has everyone giddy.

As mentioned earlier, Yoshi’s playable, and there are a few new items shown off in the trailer. The only thing I’m concerned about is the fact that the music is synthesized using MIDI. The original game featured a fully and beautifully orchestrated soundtrack for a large portion of the game, so the music enthusiast in me is hoping that they’ll continue the trend in the sequel.

Wasn’t the music for the trailer of the last game also synthesized?

I love the star bits. :P Collecting stuff without having to actually run over to it? Sign me up.

seconded. There was something very satisfying about sweeping up those little bits.
