E3 2009: Introducing the Wii Vitality Sensor

VSM???????

Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata introduced the Wii Vitality Sensor as a new Wii Remote expansion during today’s Media Briefing. The device is meant to read your pulse from your finger, detect and measure your level of stress, focus, and similar. Think Phoenix Wright will ever have us on the lie detector test?

I’ve uploaded some more pics past the break. Check ‘em out!

I can’t help but think of all of the possibilities this thing has:

The Wii Vitality Sensor could add more depth to games like Resident Evil and Call of Duty. Imagine a game where you do a whole bunch of stuff, and then you get caught and have to use it when doing a lie detector test. There are many many possibilities for this that people aren’t really thinking about. Thinking outside of the box with this device is very important.
