Remember that Chrono Trigger ROM hack that Square Enix decided to shut down at the last minute? Well, as many predicted, it has been leaked onto. An alpha build of the project, called Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes, has made its way onto torrent sites all over the internet. It’s an alpha, so there are likely still some bugs in it, but it seems to be pretty playable.

So what does this mean for the team behind the patch? That much is unclear. Let’s hope this doesn’t lead to a whole bunch of destroyed lives.
