Barely a year after the launch of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in North America and Europe, the in-game “Smash Service” will see a partial end. The following was posted on the Dojo just recently:
As of June 30th, 2009, the current service that accepts user-generated snapshots, stage designs, and replay data will no longer be available. Please note, however, that we will continue to distribute such data after that date.
Yep, that means no more sharing of your best stages after next month. Hopefully, this just means that Nintendo’s archived about a bajillion pieces of downloadable content that they’ve deemed acceptable and have yet to share, instead of merely looping everything that’s already been made available. In either case, better upload your best in the next few weeks!
