Billy Mitchell may currently hold the world record Donkey Kong high score of 1,050,200, but rival Steve Wiebe is out to reclaim it next week. Stride Gum and the PR agency are offering Wiebe a prize of $10,001 if he can beat the high score at E3 next week. Nice, right? Only catch is, he’ll be receiving it in over 125lbs worth of quarters.
Above is what 40,004 quarters actually looks like (note those last four quarters at the front of the base of the larger pyramid). Apparently, the quarters weighed so much that the bank pull cart it was initially placed collapsed under the immense pressure. Have fun getting that home, Steve!
