Gaijin Games recently sent out the above teaser image for the next Bit.Trip game, along with the message, “Soon, our trip will continue. Sincerely, Only a man.” (Click it for a better look.) It’s not a screenshot or anything, but the weird red thing firing a laser beam is likely hinting at a new gameplay mechanic. It’s unclear if the yet-unnamed Bit.Trip sequel will be a drastic change from the original Beat, or if it will stick to the same basic formula with one or two new features. The above image could even simply be concept art for a background scene, and the game could essentially be Bit.Trip Beat with new songs. Time will tell.

Gaijin Games’ website has a second teaser image, a blurry screenshot obscured by an envelope. (The envelope was part of a promotion giving away Bit.Trip Beat for free at a convention.) Despite the fact that it’s a screenshot, there’s even less to be learned from it than the above piece of art.
