Konami has announced a brand new multiplayer WiiWare racer called “Driift.” The action in Driift is viewed from a top-down perspective. The game will feature 12 tracks with four different visual themes (hills, snow, cityscape, and desert oasis) and 32 different racers, broken into four categories. Each category will feature stats that are tailored to one of the four different track themes. Driift will be playable with the Wii Remote, Remote and Nunchuchk combo, or Classic Controller. There will be 7 different modes of play, including standard championships and team races, as well as more unique modes such as VIP, Contamination, Cold Potato, and Meteorite modes.
As you can probably tell from the above screenshot, Driift will feature cartoony, cel-shaded graphics. Expect to see it on the WiiWare service in July.
