
Could the Wii MotionPlus be too responsive? Grand Slam Tennis producer Thomas Singleton seems to think so. In a recent interview, he had some complaints about developing for the peripheral.
It truly is giving you that one-to-one control movement of your arm motion and then mapping it directly to that one-to-one movement of your character on screen. [...] At times it’s overly responsive. It had so much fidelity that at times we have limited that fidelity to make it a compelling experience and giving you full total control.
This seems like a relatively small complaint, though. Responsiveness can be adjusted and it’s much better to have a lot of responsiveness to tone down than not enough to work with in the first place. (I can imagine how difficult it must be to swing your controller exactly like a professional tennis player, though.)
