Oh, sure, there has been teasing, trademarking, and general hinting, but now the next Tales game for Wii has been officially announced. Tales of Graces will be a “mothership” Tales game, rather than a spinoff like Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. What does “mothership” mean? Well, to Namco it means “Games we actually try with.” Expect Graces to live up to the standard set by games like Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Vesperia.
There aren’t many details yet, but the story will involve protecting people and a main character who “vows to never lose someone important again.” Standard JRPG fare. Tales of Graces is set to hit Japan later this year.
