It looks like the mysterious Project Ringo has been revealed, and it’s a bit anticlimactic. This week’s Famitsu magazine reveals Puyo Pop 7 from Sega for the Wii, DS, and PSP. You’re probably familiar with the gameplay of Puyo Pop by now, either from the series’ North American releases, or Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine and Kirby’s Avalanche for the Genesis and SNES respectively. Puyo Pop 7 introduces the new “transformation” mechanic, which fills a meter that allows for bigger combos by deflecting enemy attacks with your own. Puyo Pop 7 will also be the first game in the series to include online play.
No North Amercan version has yet been announced.
