GDC 2009 has been good to Nintendo fans. Now Final Fantasy-loving Nintendo fans have even more reason to get excited. A whole bunch of Final Fantasy games are coming to WiiWare and the Virtual Console.
WiiWare is getting Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Dark Lord, an evil sequel to My Life as a King. The WiiWare version of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was also finally confirmed. As for the Virtual Console, the first six Final Fantasy games will all be seeing digital download releases! At least in Japan. We here in North America will be getting all of the games that were originally released here, though, which means numbers 1, 4, and 6.
The Virtual Console games will start coming in May in Japan. No dates or prices have been set otherwise. (Let’s hope Square-Enix decides to waive their usual tax for these.)
