An ESRB rating for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years has appeared. This comes shortly after speculation that a European and North American trademark by Square-Enix for “The After Years” was actually a new subtitle for the episodic cell phone sequel to the classic Final Fantasy IV. The E rating specifically mentions the Wii, and (curiously) no other system.
This new information is about almost as good as a confirmation from Square-Enix. It’s unknown at this point whether it will be released as a full game on a DVD, or episodically via WiiWare in a similar fashion to the original cell phone version. Either way, this is great news for Final Fantasy fans.
