Nintendo has confirmed that they will be distributing last year’s indie WiiWare hit World of Goo in Japan. It will be localized as Super Gorgeous Plastic Ball Tower: Colorful Pants Helicoptor. (Ok, I made that last part up.)

Nintendo really seems to love World of Goo, and rightly so. It has won quite a few awards and is generally thought of as WiiWare’s crown jewel. The Great Jubbah knows I’ve spent enough time gushing over it. Nintendo’s Tom Prata even invited 2DBoy’s Kyle Gabler on stage with him to do a presentation about getting more indie developers on WiiWare at the DICE summit. Let’s hope Japan takes as much of a shining to it as we here in the west have. Japan is due for a goo in the second quarter of 2009.
