MadWorld pre-order bonuses revealed

shoits_resizePlatinum Games has announced three different pre-order bonuses for MadWorld, available at three different UK retailers. If you decide to pre-order at HMV, you’ll be (appropriately) rewarded with a soundtrack CD. If hip hop isn’t really your think, Gamestation and Game are giving away black and white t-shirts respectively. So, if you were thinking “Gee, I like beating people with oil drums and sticking road signs through their faces, but I just don’t know if I can handle the sign-to-face ratio of MadWorld. My doctor said I should decrease my road sign intake, after all…,” perhaps these will convince you to lay down the cash to reserve your copy.

man, i want to reserve it, but the day it comes out in Canada i leave for Ireland on a rugby tour for two weeks . i doubt they would hold it that long :(

I’ve only pre-ordered one game ever (Wind Waker, so I could get Ocarina of Time: Master Quest), but if you pre-order it and they don’t hold it long enough, you’ll still be discounted the money you put down when you do buy it, right? If I’m not mistaken, it’s probably worth it if you want the pre-order bonus.

Most places will hold pre-orders at least 2 days after launch or longer. After that, they may sell your copy if there’s too much demand from walk-ins, but they’ll still honor your deposit. They’re not just going to absorb your money. You’ll still have that $5 credit, or $50 credit (if you’re like me and have always pre-ordered in full).

HOWEVER, if you’re pre-ordering for the bonus items, that’s different. The bonus items are bundled free, but only while supplies last. Most places receive as many bonus items as there are pre-orders, but if you’re on vacation, who knows what they’ll do with it after several days. If you want to be sure you get these items, I’d recommend having a friend reserve the game for you under their name, and have them pick it all up when it comes out.
