Official Japanese Metroid site teases “Another Side Story”

The official Japanese Metroid website has a brand new teaser blurb right at the bottom. In English, it says “Another Side Story -coming soon-” as you can see above. One NeoGAF user says the Japanese text translates to “Follow Metroid Prime‘s history from the perspective of the Space Pirates.”

So what does this mean, exactly? A new game? A new section of the website? A series of interpretive dances complete with costumes? If the teaser is to be believed, we should know “soon.” Check back for more information when it becomes available.

Will this coincide with what I’m hoping is the coming-soon release of the first two Metroid Primes on Wii-ware?

Metroid Prime is way too big for WiiWare. You’re probably thinking about the Play on Wii ports.

This is just another one of those game series that just can’t end because of its popularity. Not that I’m saying that’s a bad thing, just hope it doesn’t end up like some of the other series.

Nintendo usually manages to keep its franchises from getting stale. Mario and Zelda, for example, are still great. Probably because they actually understand what makes Mario and Zelda (and Metroid) work, unlike Sega with Sonic. :P
