Bit.Trip Beat could come as early as February

Game Music 4 All managed to snag an interview with Alex Neuse, co-founder of Gaijin Games and co-creator of Bit.Trip Beat. He had lots to say about chiptunes and game design and things like that. Naturally, he also spoke about the upcoming WiiWare game. Of course, everyone wants to know when the game is coming out:

We are madly scrambling to finish the game up as I type this. Our hopeful launch will be in mid-February, but I will not promise a date yet.

Considering how Nintendo seems to throw everything into a hat and pull out random games to release every week, it’s probably a good thing not to promise anything. (Let’s hope they don’t rush too much!) He also revealed that the game will have a story, and it will covers the whole series, which will definitely probably be made:

There is a storyline to the game. The story actually spans the entire Bit.Trip series. I won’t give too much away, but let’s just say that it is heavily tied to his mission.

And just how big will the game be?

There will be 3 levels, each with its own original song that builds along the way based on how skilled the player is.

Well, it sounds like there will be some replay value, at least. Think of it as Episode 1.
