Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has become the first game ever to generate $1 billion in sales revenue. Past sales data has shown that the Wii version of the game has sold phenomenally well (why do you think Activision was so eager to get DLC in Guitar Hero: World Tour?), making it a pretty big contributor to that number.
Does this make Guitar Hero III the biggest selling game of all time? Nah. Remember the game comes with its own controller, which drives up the price. Don’t be surprised of Guitar Hero: World Tour is the first game to generate $2 billion in sales this time next year!
