Yep, Club Nintendo is still down. After being bogged down by high traffic and an inability to keep users logged in for more than a couple of minutes, the service was briefly suspended for repairs. Those of you using the customer service email form to ask about the maintenance work might get a reply similar to this:

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve experienced difficulties with using Club Nintendo. As with any large online undertaking, we’re facing some growing pains, but I want to assure you that we have a team dedicated to improving the service and making it work for all users.

We are currently doing maintenance on the Club Nintendo site which should resolve any problems you’ve experienced. As we don’t yet have an estimated time when the Club Nintendo site will be back up, we ask that you please keep checking back. Thank you for your patience!

It looks like there’s no official time table for the service’s return, or at least not one they’re willing to share. Hopefully when everything’s back online, we’ll be able to stay logged in long enough to do something with our account. Who knows, maybe we’ll get some better prizes, too. 2-disc Super Mario Galaxy orchestral soundtrack, anyone?
