I’m of the school of thought that kids should first learn things like your typical alphabet, numbers, maybe cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, maybe Mario… and then be kept away from video games until they first learn how to have a life outside of the virtual world. That said, if your kid’s a genius, you can do whatever you want. The kid in this video’s a genius, and she’s freakin’ ADORABLE.
This is one-year-old Melodie. Her dad and his brother Landon have been gamers all their lives, so it’s not too surprising that they’d try and get little Melodie to learn gaming characters. Thing is, she’s got some super memory ability: she was able to memorize the names of all the game characters you see on these flash cards within a span of three days. If I remember my psychology classes correctly, that’s beyond normal for her age. Talk about next generation gaming, huh?
